December 14, 2007
TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL, President: Akimitsu Ashida) today announced the opening of an office in St. Petersburg, Russia, effective December 1.
MOL positions Russia as an important growth market where it anticipates development and expansion of its businesses. It opened offices in Moscow and Vladivostok in June 2005. Both offices have worked to promote and support MOL and MOL Group companies' operations in Russia. They gather information on new businesses including large projects, while building and enhancing relationships with Russian government agencies, customers, harbor/port bureaus, and shipping companies. The new St. Petersburg Office was opened to expand the MOL organization in Russia.
As with the Vladivostok Office, the St. Petersburg Office is under the Moscow Office (as the direct representative of our Tokyo office, and covers the entire Russian Federation) and will concern itself mostly with the St. Petersburg region and the three nearby countries Baltic sea.
The opening of the St. Petersburg office will help MOL and the MOL Group expand business and pioneer business potentials in Russia.
