Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul, May 11th 2007 - The New World Alliance (TNWA) today announced the launch of an industry-leading all-water service connecting both South East Asia and the Indian Subcontinent with the United States East Coast via the Suez Canal.
The Suez Express (SZX) will transit the Indian and Atlantic oceans providing customers with an attractive new service alternative, which will complement TNWA's 12 Pacific Ocean services, for cargoes moving to and from the US East Coast.
Eight vessels with a capacity range of 4,000-4,500 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) will be deployed on the weekly service beginning in early July 2007.
