MOL Selected for Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations for 1st Time

February 08, 2011

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL, President: Koichi Muto) today announced that the company was named one of the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World by Corporate Knights Inc.(*) of Canada on January 29 at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The selection was a first for MOL, which earned the No. 32 position in the world and the highest ranking in the shipping industry.

The top 100 companies are ranked and selected each year from 3,000 companies in various industries around the world from the viewpoints of the environment, social responsibility and governance. The first Global 100 rankings were issued in 2005.

MOL's selection was the result of its ongoing efforts to promote an open and visible management style, guided by the highest ethical and social standards, and thorough safe operation, as set out in the MOL Group Corporate Principles.

The MOL Group continues its focus on safe operation and environmental issues as key elements of the mid-term management plan GEAR UP! MOL, and aims for sustainable, synergistic growth in step with society.
