Post-quake Update on Support for Victims of the Tohoku district - off the Pacific Ocean Earthquake

TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Koichi Muto) today reported that MOL Ferry Co., Ltd., a MOL Group company, transported about 2,700 Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) personnel and about 930 emergency vehicles from Tomakomai in Hokkaido to Aomori, the capital of Aomori prefecture, on the main island of Honshu. The transport support was accomplished with four ferries, which made eight trips in total. This is part of MOL's ongoing effort to provide aid to the quake- and tsunami-stricken areas.

"We express our sympathies to all the victims of this disaster," MOL President Koichi Muto said. "We continue to make every effort, on a group-wide basis, to assist with rescue and relief operations."
