MOL Issues "MOL Safety Standard Specifications" Brochure

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Junichiro Ikeda) today announced the publication of its "MOL Safety Standard Specifications" brochure.

The "MOL Safety Standard Specifications" are unique to MOL and go beyond regulations set out in laws and international treaties, ensuring that MOL maintains a higher level of safety aboard its operated vessels. The specifications were first adopted in 2006 to draw upon the lessons of its earlier serious marine incidents, and are continually revised and updated based on its experiences.

The "MOL Safety Standard Specifications" currently comprise of total of 68 items and are intended to prevent "collision, grounding," "fire," "flooded and loss of stability," "oil leakage at sea and environmental pollution," and "workplace accidents."

The brochure introduces some of the specifications chosen, and is designed to provide an intuitive understanding of vessel structure with ample illustrations.
