In September 2006, MOL entered into a joint venture agreement with the Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education & Training (MANET) in Pune, a city located about 220 kilometers from Mumbai, to establish a MOL Training Centre (MANET-India). Courses will include the overhauling of Main Generator Engines, Welding/Lathe work, etc. MOL installed a Ship Handling Simulator with 360-degrees (Second Bridge Simulator with 120-degrees) in MANET in December 2007. This is the first time such equipment has been available in India, and training for Bridge Resource Management and Ship Handling, commenced in January 2008. |
