Daibiru Enters Vietnam’s Office Leasing Market
with Acquisition of Saigon Tower

In January, MOL subsidiary Daibiru Corporation acquired the Saigon Tower, an upscale office building in Ho Chi Minh City, through its holding company.

Daibiru sees huge potential in Vietnam, which has one of Asia’s fastest growing economies and is attracting the attention of companies from Japan and other countries. It established a Ho Chi Minh City Representative Office in April 2011 to launch its office building leasing operations in Vietnam.

The company is planning to develop office buildings using its leasing know how accumulated in Japan, as Vietnam’s rapid economic growth fuels demand for higher quality office space.

New MOL Logistics Sales Group Focuses on Food and Perishables

MOL Logistics (Japan) has established the new Perishable & Food Sales Group, allocating specialists from the Import Sales Department to focus on import/export of food products and other perishable cargo. In light of recent increases in imports of fresh foods and exports of luxury food items from Japan, mainly to other Asian nations, the new group aims to improve those operations and upgrade customer services.

The company’s dedicated veteran staff members have extensive experience in transport of fresh foods and can respond promptly to various logistics needs by addressing legal procedures (quarantine, food and sanitation inspections, and so on), customs clearance, delivery, and warehousing services as well as air and ocean shipping, export and import forwarding, and temperature- and humidity-controlled transport.

MOL Logistics Opens Office in Thai Binh Province, Vietnam

MOL Logistics (Japan) subsidiary MOL Logistics Vietnam Inc. opened a new office in Thai Binh Province, northern Vietnam, and began operations on May 16.

Thai Binh Province is in the Red River Delta, about a three-hour drive from Hanoi and about two hours from Haiphong, where the apparel production industry is thriving. Access from Thai Binh Province to Haiphong, northern Vietnam's major port, has been improved, drawing more Japanese companies to the area.

MLG Vietnam, established in November 2005, now has a total of five locations: Thai Binh, branches in Hanoi, Haiphong, and Hai Duong, and headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City.
