Asia East Africa New Joint Service
P&O Nedlloyd, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and
Delmas are pleased to announce a new joint
service between Asia and East Africa.
The new service, branded as EAX (East Africa
Asia Express), will offer fixed day weekly
direct service between Port Kelang, Singapore,
Colombo, Mombasa, Tanga, Dar es Salaam and
Cochin. In addition, the service will provide
fortnightly direct coverage of Seychelles
and Maldives. A total of five geared vessels
will be deployed, with P&O Nedlloyd and
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines each providing two vessels
and Delmas one.
The new EAX service will provide a dedicated
and fast connection between Asia and East
Africa, using Singapore, Port Kelang and
Colombo as transshipment hubs from and to
other Asian ports. The transit time from
Singapore to Mombasa of 12 days is the fastest
in the market and allows East African importers
to source their goods with much shorter transit
times than currently available.
The new service rotation will be:
Port Kelang (Mon), Singapore (Tue), Colombo
(Sun), Male* (Tue), Mahe* (Fri), Mombasa
(Mon), Tanga (Fri), Dar es Salaam (Sat),
Mahe* (Thu), Cochin (Mon), Colombo (Wed),
Port Kelang (Mon). (* Fortnightly only.)
The first EAX sailing 'm/v Delmas Kenya'
will depart Singapore on the 21st of May.
