MOL (China) Co., Ltd. Opens Shenzhen Branch
Office
TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL, President
Kunio Suzuki) today announced that its wholly
owned subsidiary MOL (China) Co., Ltd. (headquarters:
Shanghai) will open a branch office in Shenzhen,
and start its operation on July 1.
The opening of the Shenzhen Branch Office
will help MOL enhance customer service, improve
the cost competitiveness of its sales activities,
and meet diversified market needs in southern
China, where trade volume is expected to
grow sharply as a result of China's participation
in the World Trade Organization.
The Shenzhen Branch Office is MOL (China)'s
second, following the Tianjin Branch, which
opened in 1996. In a continued effort to
expand its independent network in China,
the company plan to seek government approval
to open branches in Qingdao, Ningbo, and
Xiamen as next step.
Sanjiro Shirokawa will serve as Branch Manager,
overseeing a staff of 29 employees.
