MOL Boosts Container Service to India
MOL independent service between Nhava Sheva and the Strait of Malacca launched

TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL, President: Akimitsu Ashida) today announced a plan for a new independent container shuttle to enhance service between western India, Malaysia and Singapore. The increased service will begin later this month.

In addition to current NSX service, which employs two containerships, the company's new shuttle will provide the fastest transit time between the western India port of Nhava Sheva, in a suburb of Mumbai, and Port Kelang/Singapore in the Straits of Malacca.

With connections in Singapore to Japan and the strait service (CHS1), this upgrade will also allow MOL to offer the fastest stable service between western India and major ports in Japan. Our company continues to upgrade its services in response to the rising container trade in the Indian market.
