TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Akimitsu Ashida) today announced that its subsidiary PT Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Indonesia (headquartered in Jakarta) has established a branch in Lampung. Operations will start on September 1.
Lampung is a province located in the south of Sumatra Island, ideally situated as a hub connecting Java and Sumatera. The port city of Panjang accommodates both passengers and cargo, providing a key link in the transportation of agricultural products, minerals, forest products, and seafood. Lampung, with a population of 7 million, has great potential to become a major center of MOL Group sales and operations.
The Lampung Branch is MOL Indonesia's sixth branch. Until now, MOL customers in Lampung were served by sub-agents. With the opening of the Lampung Branch, MOL Indonesia has completed a network that will serve all its customers in Indonesia through its own branches. It will be able to offer improved services to meet diversified customer needs and strengthen its sales force to pioneer potential markets.
