MOL Starts Safety Campaign

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Koichi Muto) today announced the launch of a safety campaign involving all MOL-operated vessels from April 1, 2011.

We have a frank exchange of ideas and opinions between management and seafarers and other front-line personnel about the prevention of accidents resulting in injury or death, which is one of the targeted "four zeroes*" in the midterm management plan "GEAR UP! MOL" that began in April 2010.

* "Four zeros"

  • Exchange ideas, advice, and opinions between onboard personnel and land-based personnel about "not allowing minor issues to develop into serious problems," based on lessons from resent accidents resulting in injury. Further enhance the safe operation structure by sharing information and ideas within the company, and with other MOL Group-operated vessels.
