July 23, 2015

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Junichiro Ikeda) today announced that it has received a letter of appreciation from the non-profit organization Rotary World Help (*) (RWH; representative: Bonnie Sutherland; Headquarters: Vancouver, Canada) for providing ocean transport of relief supplies donated by RWH. MOL received the letter at a July 19 ceremony to commemorate the donation, hosted by the Manila-based volunteer group Fire Brigade & Communications, Inc. (Representative: Rolly So), which received firefighting equipments essential to the relief effort.

RWH supports developing countries through transport of medical equipments, firefighting equipments and other critical supplies, and MOL provides ocean transport of the donated items. The letter expresses the group's appreciation for MOL's efforts to make sure RWH-donated relief supplies including firefighting equipments reached the Philippines. A containership with a load of firefighting equipments departed Port Metro Vancouver on May 30 and arrived in the Port of Manila on June 23.

MOL takes a proactive stance in social contribution activities that are unique to an ocean transport company with a global network.
