McMOL Holds Ceremony for Signing Cadet Scholarship: Building the Next Generation ofMaritime Officers

08 Aug 2025

In an effort to build a high-quality talent pool of seafarers and attract more young talents to address the ongoing shortage of officers in the maritime industry, McMOL remains committed to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism across all operational levels. This commitment was reflected through the Ceremony for Signing Cadet Scholarship, held on August 8, 2025, at the McMOL Office, Granadi Building 5th Floor, South Wing.

During the event, McMOL established strategic collaboration with three leading maritime education institutions in Indonesia, namely:
- Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Pelayaran (STIP) Jakarta
- Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran (PIP) Semarang
- Politeknik Pelayaran Surabaya (Poltekpel Surabaya)

Through this partnership, McMOL officially welcomed a total of 15 cadets, consisting of:
- 10 cadets from STIP Jakarta
- 3 cadets from PIP Semarang
- 2 cadets from Poltekpel Surabaya

The Cadet Scholarship Program provides assurance for cadets to undertake their sea training onboard vessels managed by McMOL. Through real-world exposure at sea, the cadets will be able to deepen their technical competencies, enhance operational knowledge, and strengthen their professional skills as future maritime officers.

In addition, this program helps alleviate the financial burden of education, allowing cadets to focus on their academic growth and career preparation within the maritime sector.

McMOL hopes that this initiative will strengthen the company’s ability to develop future officers who are not only competent but also uphold strong values of safety and professionalism in their duties. Through this program, McMOL reaffirms its commitment to supporting maritime education and contributing to the advancement of Indonesia’s seafaring human resources.
