Services

As a Pioneer in Automotive Transportation

In 1965, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. launched Japan's first dedicated car carrier.

Since then, as a pioneer in automotive transportation, we have been providing safe and reliable transport services tailored to our customers' evolving needs, supported by a fleet of approximately 100 operating vessels.

Our latest car carriers are designed to transport a wide range of self-propelled vehicles, from passenger cars to construction machinery, with the capacity to carry up to 7,000 passenger vehicles in a single voyage.

We are also actively committed to reducing the environmental impact of our vessels through initiatives such as aerodynamic resistance reduction, the installation of solar power generation systems, and the adoption of LNG (liquefied natural gas) as a primary fuel.

Car carriers operated by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines are widely recognized by ship names bearing the "ACE" designation. The unified brand for our automotive transportation business, MOL ACE (MOL Auto Carrier Express), embodies our determination to further expand in the global market.

Standing at the frontline of MOL ACE operations—including vessel operation, cargo handling and sales, and ship agency services—we act as a co-creation partner to our customers, listening sincerely to on-site needs and delivering sustainable maritime transportation services with strong competitiveness and added value.

Operation of car carriers

We manage the operation of car carriers to transport our customers' valuable Passenger Vehicles and Construction Machinery safely and efficiently around the world. Our main tasks include creating voyage plans, managing fuel, arranging agents, and collecting weather information. We work alongside the ship's crew at sea to ensure safe navigation while simultaneously fulfilling our customers' ocean transportation needs. Additionally, part of operation management involves coordinating with the captain, ship officers, and agent personnel to adjust schedules and resolve issues in case of emergencies or various problems.

Guided by our mission of "Sail On and Bond Beyond", we ensure operations run as planned, maintaining safety and efficiency, while minimizing transportation costs and improving service quality.

Collection and Sales of Passenger Vehicles and Construction Machinery

We support ocean transportation of new passenger vehicles, used vehicles, and construction machinery carried by car carriers operated by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.(MOL).
The cargo we transport constitutes vital infrastructure that underpins people's daily lives and industries. Through safe and reliable ocean transportation, we continue to contribute to the development of society.
As professionals with specialized expertise in car carrier transportation, we work closely with our customers to address a wide range of challenges together, striving to remain a trusted partner of choice.

Ship agency business

We are mainly engaged in a wide range of operations related to shipping documents required for cargo transportation, such as Shipping Orders (S/O) and Bills of Lading (B/L).
Our responsibilities include document-related tasks such as the preparation, issuance, and amendment of S/Os and B/Ls, as well as freight collection. In addition, we serve as the primary point of contact for customers, responding on a daily basis to inquiries regarding vessel schedules and various requests related to Bills of Lading as part of our customer service function.
Close coordination with local agents is also essential to ensure the smooth release of cargo from shipment through arrival.

Handling the vast number of documents required for automobiles exported worldwide, we are entrusted with a highly responsible role that demands speed and accuracy at all times.
