The Authorized Public Trust' MOL Mauritius International Fund for Natural Environment Recovery and Sustainability' Participates in NGO-led Project Inauguration Ceremony

On Thursday, September 8, 2022, a ceremony was held to inaugurate a project by the local NGO, F.A.L.C.O.N (Farmers in Agriculture, Livestock, Cooperative, Organic Network) Association (Note 1), subsidized by the Authorized public trust "MOL Mauritius International Fund for Natural Environment Recovery and Sustainability" (the Fund) (Note 2). Mr. Goro Yamashita, Managing Director of MOL (Mauritius) Ltd., was on hand for the event as a representative of the Fund.

This project is managed by the F.A.L.C.O.N Association in collaboration with the University of Mauritius, RIDC Ltd. (Note 3) and others, with aim of improving the livelihood of the people of Mauritius through the establishment of a sustainable agricultural production system for small-scale organic vegetable producers. Also in attendance at the ceremony were Honourable. Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo, Minister of Social Integration, Social Security & National Solidarity, Dr. Louis Jean Claude Autrey, CSK, Chancellor of the University of Mauritius(UOM) and other officials from the government of Mauritius and related organizations.

MOL will continue to support local economic development in Mauritius through the Fund.

An environmental consulting firm with its own laboratory facility equipped with a variety of surveying equipment to conduct contract research and development. The company is extensively involved in improving soil fertility.

The ceremony was well-attended by NGO officials and local citizens.

MOL (Mauritius) Managing Director Yamashita, who attended the ceremony as a representative of the Fund, discussed the importance of promoting sustainable agriculture and revitalizing small-scale farmers and fishermen as part of the global food value chains.
