MOL Charitable Trust Sponsored Indian Ocean Islands Youth Sports Festival

On Monday, November 21, 2022, the MOL Charitable Trust ("the Trust") (Note 1) signed a sponsorship agreement for the Indian Ocean Sports and Youth Commission Game, "Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l'Océan Indien" (CJSOI2022) (Note 2) to be held in Mauritius from Sunday, December 4 to Sunday, December 11, 2022. Of the 11 events in CJSOI 2022, Beach Handball and Sailing will be held in Blue Bay, Pointe-Jérôme, in southeastern Mauritius.

In addition, on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, the inauguration ceremony was held for the Blue Bay Beach Stadium, which hosted some of the events. Sports equipment and goods for the Games were donated to the respective athletic facilities for free use by local residents after the Games.

Through the Trust, MOL will continue to support the healthy development of the youth of Mauritius.

(Note 2) Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l'Océan Indien (CJSOI)
This is a sports event for young people between the ages of 14 and 17, and involving seven Islands in Indian Ocean countries/regions (Mauritius, Comoros, Djibouti, Madagascar, Mayotte, Reunion Island, and the Seychelles). The objective is to promote cultural exchange and friendship among young people. It has been held every two years since 1994, and this is the third time it has been held in Mauritius, following 1995 and 2006.

The contract was signed on Monday, November 21, 2022, in the presence of Mr. Stephan Toussaint (Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, Member of Parliament) (left).
