Support for local NGO engaged in social welfare activities
On Thursday, December 15, 2022, Mr. Goro Yamashita, Managing Director of MOL (Mauritius) Ltd. visited Century Welfare Association (CWA) (Note 1), which was selected for financial assistance through the Mauritian government's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme (Note 2).
CWA is a charitable organization based in suburban Port Louis, and provides various support activities, including special needs schools for people with disabilities, computer skills training for children and adults of all ages, and cooking and sewing skills programs to help women become self-sufficient. This donation will be used to purchase new physical therapy equipment to be used at the facility.

(Note 2) What is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
In Mauritius, legal enterprises registered in the country are required to pay an amount equal to 2% of their taxable income for the previous year to the national social welfare fund. In addition, from 2019 onward, enterprises will be allowed to donate a portion of their CSR payments to government-designated non-profit organizations that promote education, health, and environmental conservation activities.
