MOL Charitable Trust attends closing ceremony of community support project promoting sustainable agriculture
On April 16, 2026, the MOL Charitable Trust (the "Trust") attended the closing ceremony of the La Ferme Nou Leritaz project held in La Baraque, Mauritius. Supported under the Trust's CFP4 , the project was implemented by ER Foundation (Note 2) and aims to support community self-reliance and improve livelihoods through training in sustainable agriculture, access to farmland, and learning opportunities for children in organic cultivation and animal rearing. The ceremony brought together beneficiaries, partner organizations, and programme representatives for a presentation of results, the awarding of certificates, and an exchange of views on the project's future prospects.
A total of 134 people benefited from the project. Specifically, 14 families participated in agroecology training, six families received access to plots of land, and 110 children learned about organic farming and animal rearing. Some participants also continue to be involved in sustainable production activities.
In addition to the on-the-ground activities, a business plan was developed to support the farm's long-term operation. Going forward, the project is expected to broaden its activities and strengthen the farm's economic self-sufficiency.
The Trust will continue to support locally rooted and sustainable initiatives in Mauritius.
