About tickets

How can I purchase tickets?
You can purchase tickets in advance here.
You can also purchase tickets on the day of your visit at the ticket vending machines inside the museum.
* Tickets purchased in advance are cheaper.
How do I pay at the ticket machines on the day of my visit?
You can pay by cash, credit card, or QR code.
Is there a fee for the content I experience?
Yes, some of the contents are charged.
  • Ship handling simulator experience ticket
    500 yen (5 minutes per session, accompanied by a companion)
    * 5 minutes per session, and you can experience the simulator together with your companion.
  • Sunflower ship tour (scheduled to start in August 2025 (Note))
    High school students and older: 1,000 yen
    Elementary and junior high school students: 500 yen
    Preschool children: free of charge
    * For safety reasons, children of elementary school age and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 18 years of age or older.

Do I need to make a reservation to experience the contents?
You can make reservations and purchase experience tickets in advance here.
If seats are available, they can also be purchased at the museum's same-day ticket vending machine, but since capacity is limited for each session, you may not be able to experience the simulator at the time of your choice.
Can I experience the simulator without an admission ticket?
To use the simulators, you will need an admission ticket and a simulator experience ticket.
Please purchase the ticket in advance from here or at the ticket vending machine on the day of your visit.
* The one-screen ship-handling simulator is free of charge.
How can I cancel or change the date of a ticket purchased in advance?
You can change or cancel your ticket up to the day before your visit.

How can I cancel or change the date of a pre-purchased ticket?
You cannot change the time of your reservation.
Please cancel your reservation and make a new reservation.
Is there a discount for the disabled?
Yes, you and one accompanying guest can use the room at half price. Please click here for details.
Please present your disability certificate or Milairo ID when entering the museum.
Can I re-enter the museum?
You can re-enter the museum as many times as you wish on the same day.
Please present the "Entrance Commemorative Ticket" given to you in exchange for your admission ticket.
Can the discount for persons with disabilities be used in combination with other discounts?
No. Discounts for persons with disabilities cannot be used in combination with other discounts.

About Funeshiru

What is the MOL Museum "Funeshiru" like?
It is a "hands-on" museum where the general public can enjoy and learn about how marine transportation supports people's daily lives and the technological innovations being made every day.

How long does it take to reach from the nearest station?

Can we use the parking lot?

Is there a discount on parking fees?
No, we do not give a discount. Please click here for information about the parking fees.
However, until October 31, 2025, we are planning to offer a discount to customers who enter Fune-shiru, with a maximum of 1,000 yen on weekdays and 1,200 yen on weekends and holidays (this discount does not apply to the use of the café or store).

About the Exhibit

How long does a tour take?
A tour of the museum alone will take from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
More time will be required if you wish to participate in the hands-on activities, eat and drink at the café, or attend an event.
Is there a time limit for the tour?
There is no time limit for tours.
Are foreign languages available?
The exhibition titles and some explanations are written in both English and Japanese.
* There is no audio guidance in English.
Can you provide a tour of the museum?
We do not have a full-time staff member to guide visitors around the museum, but if you have any questions, please feel free to ask a staff member in your area.
When will you start offering onboard tours of the Sunflower?
We plan to start in August 2025. Details will be posted on our website as soon as they are finalized.

What are the opening hours of the museum?

Sunday - Wednesday: 10:00 - 18:00, last admission at 17:30
Friday and Saturday: 10:00 - 18:30, last admission 18:00

Yes, we do.

Can I return or exchange goods purchased at the Fune-shiru Shop?
We do not accept returns or exchanges if there is no fault on the part of the hotel.
Do you rent out baby strollers and wheelchairs?
We do not rent out baby strollers or wheelchairs.
If you wish, you can rent them at the ATC Information Desk (a limited number of strollers and wheelchairs are available).
Can I enter the museum with a stroller or wheelchair?
Yes, you can.
Wheelchairs may be restricted in some areas.
If the museum is crowded, you may be asked to use the stroller storage area.
Can I move around with a stroller or wheelchair?
Yes, you can.
The museum is barrier-free. Some steps can be accessed with a portable ramp.
Can I take pictures inside the museum?
You are free to take pictures inside the museum, but please be considerate of other guests and staff.
Please be especially careful when uploading videos on social networking sites or websites.
Please note that we do not permit unauthorized photography for commercial purposes.
Can I use a tripod, monopod, or selfie stick?
Please use monopods, tripods, selfie sticks, and other photographic aids in a manner that does not disturb other visitors.
Can I bring in food and beverages?
No food or beverages are allowed in the museum.
Are assistance dogs allowed in the museum?
Assistance dogs, hearing dogs, and guide dogs as defined in the Assistance Dogs for the Physically Disabled Act are allowed to enter the museum, but they must wear the legally required markings and bring their certification (user's card) with them.
Are pets allowed to enter with me?
No, they are not allowed.

About the facilities

Is there a place to change diapers for babies?
Yes, there is a diaper changing area located at the back of the ATC Gallery on the 2nd floor of the ITM building outside the museum.
Is there a nursing room?
Yes, there is a nursing room on the 3rd floor of the north wing of the O's building outside the museum, available from 11:00.
Is there a multipurpose restroom?
Yes, they are located outside the museum, on the 2nd floor of the ITM building, behind the Sunflower ticketing office.
Are ATMs available?
There are several ATMs outside the museum.
Bank of Mitsubishi UFJ, ITM Bldg. 2nd floor, 8:00 - 21:00 (normal hours)
Post Office, Japan Post Bank, 1st floor, ITM Building: 9:00 - 17:00 (until 20:00)
O's Building, North Wing, 2nd floor, Family Mart 7:00 - 23:00
Is Wi-Fi available?
There is no Wi-Fi in the building.
Is there a smoking area?
Yes, there is a smoking area behind the Sunflower Ticket Counter in front of the building.
Are alcohol sanitizers available?
Yes, alcohol sanitizers are available at the entrance of the museum and in the restrooms of the ATC.
Can I leave my luggage in your storage facility?
Coin-operated lockers are located in front of the museum.
Can I exchange money for the coin lockers?
Yes, you can. Please ask our staff.
