MOL Training Center (Philippines)

Campus of MOLTC (Philippines)

The MOL Training Center (Philippines) is located in the Magsaysay Institute of Shipping (MIS), and was established in 1993 as a non-stock, non-profit Educational Institution, cooperating with Magsaysay Maritime Corporation.

The 4.3 hectare campus houses one of the largest Maritime Training Centers in the Philippines, and includes two school buildings, two machine shops, one function house, and two dormitories with a total capacity of 370 beds.

Diesel Engine Overhaul Training

The training center is equipped with Diesel Engines, a Reefer Container Unit, PC-based Tanker, LNG, and Turbine simulators, a Main Engine Remote Control Simulator and Marine Electrical System, a Deck and Engine Work Shop, etc., making it the leading institution for seafarer training in the Philippines.

One of the core activities of the training center is a 3-month Pre-Sea Training Program. Every year, 480 cadets are recruited for the course from various maritime colleges nationwide. They undergo a strict pre-sea training prior to their cadetship training on board. The Pre-Sea Training Program is focused on technical knowledge, seafarer values, work ethics, and practical ability to give cadets the essential skills to become future senior officers in the MOL fleet.

Deck Skill training

The Training Center also offers upgrading courses, short modular courses designed to meet specific training needs for officers and ratings. More than 40 upgrading courses are available to support the career development of seafarers. Over 4,000 seafarers participate in these courses every year.
