New Containership Service for India's Chennai Port

A new service links Chennai Port (Madras) in India and the Straits to meet demand for containerized transport in India's rapidly growing market. This new service is jointly operated by MOL and Sea Consortium Pte., Ltd. (Singapore) with one ship from each company.

The route provides the fastest links between Japan and Chennai via connections to MOL's Japan-Straits services (CHS1/CHS2). In addition, links to our worldwide container service network are available at Singapore.

Shanghai Container Service Upgraded

Our new China Singapore Service Loop 1 (CS1) now connects Shanghai and Singapore, where cargo space remains tight. This is a part of our initiative to meet rising demand for containerized shipping within Asia as well as to/from Asia.

CS1 relies on two MOL-operated 1,000-1,200 TEU-type containerships. By connecting to our network at Singapore, it also provides more competitive service to ports in India and Pakistan.

Cargo from Shanghai to West and East Africa is transported promptly and reliably via Singapore.

Nhava Sheva-Straits Service Ensures Greater Speed and Reliability

A new independent container shuttle is upgrading service between Nhava Sheva (Mumbai, India) and the Straits (Singapore, Port Kelang). The two vessels deployed on the service ensure faster transit times. Combined with the current NSX service, MOL can now offer two services between Nhava Sheva and the Straits.

With links in Singapore to Japan and the Straits service (CHS1), this upgrade will also allow MOL to offer the fastest, most reliable service between Nhava Sheva Port and major ports in Japan.

MOL Upgraded Intra Asia Containership Service from S. Korea

The newly launched Korea Jakarta Service (KJX) upgrades MOL's container service to Indonesia. It is available through a space charter with South Korea's Heung-A Shipping.

With direct connections between South Korea and Indonesia, the new service also gives us a competitive edge in shipping from South Korea to India and Pakistan, with speedy connections to our network.

Europe-South Africa Container Service Resumes Weekly Sailings

We have resumed the weekly frequency on our Intermediate Service between Europe and South Africa. This service is a joint effort involving MOL, Deutsche Afrika-Linien GmbH, Maersk Line and Safmarine Container Lines N.V.

This upgrade is a response to seasonal demand for increased capacity and frequency. Along with the lines' weekly Core Service, it will provide twice weekly fixed-day service between Europe and South Africa.

New Connections Between Vietnam and Japan

MOL's new JTV route provides direct links between Ho Chi Minh City and major ports in Japan. It's part of our plan to enhance containerized service in response to robust intra-Asia trade.

We offer the service through a space charter with Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas Container Line Limited (OOCL). Along with our CBC service, we offer two weekly direct services from Ho Chi Minh City to Japan, plus calling Osaka and Kobe.
