| The energy transport experts |
Oil is the mainstay of the world's energy supply, and requires safe, efficient transport.
MOL has a wide variety of tankers from very large crude carrier (VLCC) of more than 200,000 dwt to mid-size and small tankers called Suezmax and Aframax tankers. They all contribute to the safe, reliable delivery of crude oil around the world. Our fleet also includes product tankers that move refined petroleum products such as heavy and light oils, naphtha and gasoline, methanol carriers that transport liquefied chemical products, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers. The global energy industry depends on MOL's massive fleet and extensive know-how to get the job done.

| Establishing a safe operation structure |
Transport of crude oil and other energy sources demands
a sophisticated safe operation system and advanced technical capabilities.
While expanding our fleet, we focus on enhanced seafarer education and
training, making safety a top priority on both the "hardware" and "software"
sides.
By international treaty, all newly built tankers after 1996 must have a double hull structure for cargo tanks to prevent cargo oil leakage in the event of a collision or grounding. MOL took the initiative to replace all its single hull tankers with double-hull tankers. This initiative has achieved its objective and all our vessels are now double-hulled. In another move to enhance the safety and environment-friendliness of our tanker fleet, the fuel tanks of all very large crude carriers (VLCCs) completed since May 2005 feature a double-hull structure. We established a ship management company exclusively for tankers to better concentrate operational know-how and enhance safety and efficiency. In addition, we offer a unique seafarer education and training that includes simulator training of tanker operation and cargo loading/discharging, at our exclusive training centers. |
