MOL's business portfolio is strategically balanced, allowing for sustainable growth. While keeping our eyes to risk management, we aggressively invest in growing areas, aiming to become "the world's largest, highest-quality, unique ocean transportation group company with a full range of services."

We operate the world's largest fleet of dry bulkers, including iron ore and coking coal carriers, general cargo carriers, wood chip carriers, and steaming coal carriers. In fiscal year 2011 and beyond, we continue to offer a wide variety of vessels to meet an ever-changing economic and business climate, and shifting demands. We also strive to ensure strong, sustainable earnings growth by reaching an optimum balance of mid- and long-term contracts and spot contracts.

We take great pride in the MOL tanker fleet — crude oil tankers (mainly VLCCs), petroleum product tankers, chemical product tankers, and LPG carriers — and its global leadership in all of these fields. As an expert in energy transport, we have developed a comprehensive safe operation system covering our entire lineup of vessels. With one of the world's largest tanker fleets, we can take advantage of business opportunities on a global scale. We were also the first shipping company to adopt double-hull tankers for our entire fleet in the interest of global environmental protection.

MOL, as one of the world's largest LNG carriers, takes a proactive stance toward developing a wide variety of liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects around the world, based on decades of transport know-how and technical expertise as well as long-term, trusting relationships with business partners. Natural gas is drawing increased attention around the world as an abundant, environmentally friendly energy source, and demand is expected to increase sharply in the coming years. MOL continually provides safe, stable LNG transport and works hard to maintain its leadership in the LNG sector, serving as a key worldwide energy lifeline.

Our car carrier segment offers higher quality and more competitive services with wealth of automobile transport experience and knowledge accumulated over the years, adding most advanced car carriers.

Today's containerships transport a wide variety of cargoes - from completed products, parts and components, raw materials, foods, and other general consumer products. This sector shows continual, steady growth in step with changes in the international division of labor and rising global population. MOL offers its own high-quality services and works closely with other major carriers, particularly through The New World Alliance (TNWA) with APL and Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) on the east-west trade. We also provide stable, reliable services on trades serving emerging nations in Asia, South America, and Africa, meeting customer needs through an extensive network developed over long period of liner operation.
In the logistics business, MOL customers can count on our ever-expanding worldwide network and decades of accumulated expertise. By fully understanding customer needs, we can offer optimum solutions and a full range of services.

MOL's four major ferry and domestic transport companies (MOL Naiko, Ltd., MOL Ferry Co., Ltd., Ferry Sunflower Ltd., Meimon Taiyo Ferry Co., Ltd.) link major consumer markets and industrial zones across Japan, offering efficient, comfortable, and reliable services for passengers and cargo alike.
As concerns mount over the environment, our ferries and coastal liners are in the vanguard of the Japanese government's Modal Shift program, which encourages the use of ships and railways as a green alternative to truck transport. Our passenger transport services emphasize convenience and comfort, under the catchphrase "Let's Stay Aboard."
We also introduced the concept for the environment-friendly, next-generation ISHIN-II ferry.
MOL aspires to be a high-quality, customer-oriented transport company, while further pursuing enhanced passenger comfort and ongoing reductions in our environmental burden.
Following the Tohoku-Pacific Ocean Earthquake, MOL Ferry Co., Ltd., an MOL Group company, assisted in the transportation of Japan Self-Defence Forces (JSDF) personnel and emergency vehicles to the affected region, and played an important role in providing transport for supplies and personnel to areas badly hit by the disaster for the duration of the emergency.

MOL is expanding its associated business, mainly in the ocean shipping-related fields such as tug boats, cruise ships, and sale of ship supplies. In real estate, another core business, we made Daibiru Corporation a consolidated subsidiary in 2004. Daibiru Corporation contributes stable profits that enhance the MOL Group's overall performance.

This category covers mainly administrative divisions such as ship management, finance, and so on.
