TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL, President: Akimitsu Ashida) today announced to introduce new type of life jacket for seafarers, developed in cooperation with KOA KAKO Co., Ltd., a major life jacket manufacturer. This is part of MOL’s efforts to improve operating safety.


This new type of life jacket offers superior mobility and fit, as well as the following advantages in performance and maintenance:

Features :
The life jacket integrates a compact, lightweight and portable radar reflector that ensures faster detection of seafarers overboard and adrift on the open sea.

An improved micro prism reflective material offers six times the reflective performance set by international standards. This U.S.-developed material also improves safety and visibility when seafarers are working on deck, and in case they go overboard.

The life jacket has a detachable protective cover that is easy to replace in case of damage or deterioration.

The reinforced life jacket protective cover is made of nylon instead of polyurethane to improve resistance to abrasion.
