MOL Visits Junior High School Students for In-Person Presentation

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announces that on September 29, one of its onboard officers visited Ono Junior High School in Masuda-shi, Shimane Prefecture, to make a presentation on the maritime shipping industry for 28 students of the school.

The school provides career education to help students learn about the roles of different industries and jobs in society by hearing directly from people who work in those fields and show the young people the career paths open to them. An MOL navigation officer, who gave the presentation, shared his views on his profession, including what he thought about his career path when he was a junior high school student, as well as the role of the shipping industry, the nature of his work, and the excitement of onboard life, giving students a clear idea of the opportunities that await them in the maritime shipping industry.

MOL hopes that such learning experience will help broaden the career choices of the next generation, and will continue activities to deliver the importance of the ocean shipping industry and the attractiveness, rewards, and so on of the work, and to ensure a prosperous future from the blue oceans.
