MOL Cruises, Ltd. (MOLC) offers a broad lineup of cruises aboard the NIPPON MARU, from casual overnight jaunts to cruises all over Japan and overseas cruises with a variety of themes and ports of call.

The cruise guests have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the tranquility of maritime existence, complemented by the exquisite delight of seasonal and regional gastronomy. This serene repose is steeped in a legacy of over a century of distinguished cruise service provision.

In October 2023, MOL launched a new cruise brand "MITSUI OCEAN CRUISES". And in December 2024, the luxury ship "MITSUI OCEAN FUJI," with all-suite cabins, will join together to provide services with Nippon Maru.

History

1939 OSK Shosen Kaisha(OSK Line) builds the Argentina Maru and the Brazil Maru, which take full advantage of prewar Japan's most advanced passenger shipbuilding technology, and puts them into service on the Japan-East Coast of South America route.
1958 The second Argentina Maru (later renamed as the first Nippon Maru) is launched.
1963 Japan Emigration Ship Co., Ltd. is established
1970 Mitsui O.S.K. Passenger Lines, Ltd. is established and begins passenger services.
1972 The second Argentina Maru is renovated and converted to a dedicated passenger ship, and the first Nippon Maru is launched.
1989 The Fuji Maru, Japan's first full-scale ocean-going cruise ship, is launched, ushering in the leisure cruise era.
1990 The third Nippon Maru is launched.
2010 The third Nippon Maru undergoes a major renovation, expanding public space and offering a wider range of cabin variations to make it a more up-to-date leisure cruise ship.
2023 Mitsui O.S.K. Passenger Lines, Ltd. changed its name to MOL Cruises, Ltd.
