January 12, 2024

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced the establishment of the "MOL Scholarship" for international students at the International University of Japan (IUJ).

MOL Scholarship is a part of MOL's corporate citizenship program that provides financial support to international students, primarily from African countries. The program is intended to promote the development of highly skilled human resources who will be responsible for the future economic development of countries in Africa and other regions through financial support for students from countries with which MOL has close ties. Examples include Mauritius, where the company is involved in activities to restore and preserve the natural environment, and Kenya, where an MOL Group company has warehousing and logistics operations and a business importing used agricultural machinery from Japan.

Two international students who will be admitted in September 2024 will receive a monthly stipend of 150,000 yen as well as all their tuition and fees for about two years.
