Four new services - Greater Service Frequency - Extra port calls

Singapore, Seoul, Tokyo, 3 April 2006 -- The New World Alliance (TNWA) today announced improvements to its services between Asia and Europe with the addition of four new services. The TNWA is the consortium of ocean carriers APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), which together provide service to more than 40 ports using 100+ containerships in the major East-West container trades: Trans-Pacific, Trans-Atlantic, and Asia-Europe.

In the Asia-Europe trade, the previously announced cooperation with the Grand Alliance adds four new services, providing greater service frequency, additional port calls at Le Havre, and more coverage of Mediterranean ports. The TNWA will utilise four Asia-Europe services of the Grand Alliance starting in March, and the Grand Alliance will utilise three TNWA Asia-Europe services.

New TNWA service offerings

EU2 - Asia Europe Loop 2
This service offers a direct connection between Southeast Asia and first port of call Le Havre. It also offers direct coverage of Jeddah and Jebel Ali.

EU3 - Asia Europe Loop 3
Five China port calls provide excellent market accessibility.
The rotation includes: Ningbo (Sa) - Shanghai (Sa/Su) - Xiamen (Tu/Tu) - Yantian (We/We) - Hong Kong (Th/Th) - Singapore (Su/Mo) - Southampton (Tu/We) - Hamburg (Th/Su) - Rotterdam (Su/Tu) - Port Klang (Fr/Fr) - Singapore (Sa/Su) - Shekou (Tu/We) - Hong Kong (We/Th) - Ningbo (Fr).

EU4 - Asia Europe Loop 4
Direct coverage ports in the Bohai Region will serve the rapidly growing North China region.
The rotation includes: Dalian (We) - Xingang (We/Th) - Qingdao (Fr/Sa) - Pusan (Su/Tu) - Shanghai (We/Th) - Ningbo (Th/Th) - Xiamen (Fr/Sa) - Singapore (Tu/We) - Port Klang (We/Th) - Jeddah (Th/Th) - Rotterdam (Fr/Su) - Hamburg (Mo/We) - Southampton (Th/Fr) - Singapore (Mo/Mo) - Kaohsiung (Fr/Fr) - Pusan (Su/Mo) - Dalian (Tu).

EUM - Asia Mediterranean Loop
This express service connects Asia with four major market hubs in the Mediterranean. The rotation includes: Shanghai (Sa) - Ningbo (Su/Su) - Shekou (Tu/Tu) - Hong Kong (We/We) - Singapore (Sa/Su) - Port Klang (Su/Su) - Damietta (We/Th) - Genoa (Su/Tu) - Barcelona (Tu/Th) - Fos (Th/Fr) - Damietta (Mo/Tu) - Singapore (Sa/Su) - Hong Kong (We/We) - Shanghai (Fr).

(MOL will only participate in the EU4 service.)
