MOL to Update Container Service between South China and Japan

March 05, 2007

TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL, President: Akimitsu Ashida) today announced an update to its container service with the start of the Japan/China Service 2 (JC2). The move is part of MOL's strategy to continually enhance its services in response to robust growth of containerized cargo traffic into, out of, and within Asia.
The new JC2 service is offered through a space charter from Taipei-based Wan Hai Lines. By adding the JC2 service, MOL will upgrade its direct services from South China to Japan with current MOL-operated services, while the service to Kansai and Kyushu will start again. MOL's services will also benefit from its extensive network, including service linking Japan and Hong Kong.
