MOL (China) Co., Ltd. Opened Zhengzhou Office

TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL, President: Akimitsu Ashida) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary MOL (China) Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shanghai) opened an office in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, on July 1. Initial activities at the office include sales promotion, information gathering, and other various liaison duties related to MOL services.

[Background and Future Approaches]
MOL has proactively expanded and enhanced its network to increase business in China. Zhenghou, where our new office has been opened, is the capital city of Henan Province with a population of about 7 million. It is located on the banks of the Yellow River, and was home to the Yin (Shang) Dynasty. The city has been flourished through ages. Today it is a rapidly growing modern city and a hub of rail transportation to any destinations, and a center of various industries such as automobiles and electrical equipment.
These industrial products are exported mainly via Qingdao. MOL served this area through business trips from Qingdao, but decided to locate an office there to meet rising demand for transportation services in the future, and provide higher-quality services tailored to customer needs.
With the opening of the Zhengzhou office, MOL now has 27 offices in China, and continues to proactively enhance its business operations and improve customer services.
