MOL Comes through with Aid to Earthquake-stricken Chile

March 10, 2010

TOKYO - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Akimitsu Ashida) today announced plans to assist earthquake-stricken areas in Chile with a cash donation of US$30,000 and free transport of aid supplies by its containerships, in partnership with its subsidiary MOL (Chile) Ltda.

MOL expresses our heartfelt sympathy to all victims of the disaster and hope that reconstruction proceeds according to plan.

MOL will accept and transport relief supplies from governmental institutions and government-authorized support organizations to Chile earthquake victims. The supplies will be loaded at the ports of Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Kobe, Keelung, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Xiamen, Shanghai, and Pusan, and delivered to the Chilean ports of Iquique and Valparaiso.

Aid supplies for Chile must be brought to container yards at the loading ports by the end of April 2010, and as shipping capacity is limited, transport of those supplies will be on a first-come first-shipped basis.
