TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Koichi Muto) today announced the launch of its biannual safety campaign targeting all MOL-operated vessels, starting on October 1.

MOL forges ahead to become a world leader in safe operation. As part of these efforts, President Muto, executives, and other personnel will concentrate their visits on MOL-operated vessels to meet on-board employees and exchange information and opinions about ways to prevent incidents based on the following campaign outline. Proposals and ideas gained during the campaigns, which are based on pre-selected themes and held twice every year, will be shared throughout the MOL Group and with other Group-operated vessels, to further enhance the MOL safe-operation structure.

    October 1 to November 15, 2013
  • Specific topics for opinion and in formation exchange
    The discussion will focus on "Enhancement of Teamwork" Company representatives and crewmembers on board will exchange opinions about how to increase the strength of the team through synergy of three key concepts - "communication," "sharing experience," and "mutual complement" This idea grew out of the previous campaign (April 15–May 31). The campaign will also promote cooperation between vessels and land-based offices, and foster a company-wide safe operation culture by enhancing the strength of MOL as a team.
