TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Junichiro Ikeda) today announced that the company took part in a field trip for students from Sagami Women's University Elementary School (President: Masayuki Takeshita; Location: Sagami-shi, Kanagawa Prefecture) on December 13, and sent one of its officers to deliver a presentation about the maritime industry and seafarers' careers at "Yokohama Port Symbol Tower" in Honmoku Pier.

This is the third time since 2016 that MOL has assigned one of its officers to meet the students. The officer's presentation gave students an in-depth look at the shipping industry as they observed vessels from the Tower. He explained how deeply shipping is involved in people's day-to-day lives, discussed the types and sizes of merchant vessels, and talked about the attractions of working at sea as a marine officer or engineer. Students listened intently, took notes, eagerly asked questions, and came away with a much broader understanding of ocean shipping.

MOL takes a proactive stance in educational activities, with the goal of making the younger generation feel a closer connection to ships and the sea, which support people's daily lives, and continues activities to help younger people to appreciate the importance of the shipping industry.
