TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced that on Wednesday, July 26, it welcomed 26 students (Note 1) from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands to its Head Office building.

MOL presented the students, visiting Japan as part of a training program on transportation-related industries, with an overview of the ocean shipping industry and its business development, followed by an introduction of initiatives to address environmental issues as stated in the "MOL Group Environmental Vision 2.2" (Note 2).

After the presentation, students toured the Safety Operation Supporting Center (SOSC) located in the building and learned about MOL's unique organization to support safe operation, which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The visitors listened earnestly and enthusiastically asked questions during a background briefing about the center's establishment. They also got a close-up look at the system, which is supervised by experienced captains under the watchwords "Don't leave the captain alone" and saw the real-time movements and various information on about MOL-operated vessels displayed on large screens.

MOL will continue initiatives to communicate its commitment to safe operations and environmental issues, aiming to promote understanding of the role and importance of the maritime industry to future generations around the world, as the responsibility of a company that operates the world's largest merchant fleet.
