September 25, 2023

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced that on Thursday, September 21, MOL Executive Officer Masayuki Sugiyama gave a lecture on "Offshore wind power generation projects by a shipping company" at the Nagoya Port Seminar hosted by the Nagoya Foundation.

The Nagoya Port Seminar has a long history, dating back to the 1960s, and is designed to provide companies and organizations located at the Nagoya Port with a broad insight into not only port conditions, but also economic and social trends. The event attracted many young professionals from various fields. Among renewable energy sectors, offshore wind power is an area destined for strong growth in the future. From MOL's perspective as a shipping company, Executive Officer Sugiyama shared the company's reasons for being involved in this field and the specifics of its projects to the participants, who are charting the future course for the Nagoya Port, one of the largest in Japan.

In line with the "MOL Group Environmental Vision 2.2" (Note), the MOL Group will continue to proactively pursue and foster "environmental and emission-free businesses," including offshore wind power generation projects, to reduce its environmental impact.
