TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced its participation in the "Port and Ship" exhibition at the Minato Science Museum, which runs from October 12 to November 12. This exhibition not only introduces the flow of people and goods supported by "ports" and the science and technology of "ships" coming and going between ports, but also examines the future of "ports" with a view to disaster preparedness and environmental protection.

MOL is exhibiting models of the car carrier Beluga Ace, the liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier LNG Venus, the containership MOL Bravo, the bulk carrier Shofu Maru (equipped with the Wind Challenger), and the Wind Hunter (planned zero emission ship) as an introduction to the various ships operating in ports. On Saturday, November 4, MOL will also hold an event at the museum, featuring navigators and engineers introducing the work of seafarers.

The MOL Group hopes to raise awareness of the shipping industry, the origin of its business, by making people aware of the important existence of ports and ships. Through the exhibition, the group will encourage people to think together about the future of shipping, and use it as a driving force in its initiatives to open up a prosperous future from the blue ocean.
