TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Junichiro Ikeda) today announced that the company received a letter of appreciation from the Jesus V. Del Rosario Foundation, Inc. (Representative: Jaime C. Del Rosario; Headquarters: Makati City) for providing ocean transport of used wheelchairs for children in the Philippines. This is the fourth time MOL has teamed up with the NPO since 2010.
The containership, loaded with a total of 90 wheelchairs, left the Port of Yokohama on December 29, 2015, and on January 10 of this year, arrived at Manila, where the wheelchairs were distributed to needy children. At the ceremony on February 9, the foundation presented MOL with a letter of appreciation, saying, "We understand that you have contributed to our activity by providing free ocean transport of wheelchairs. I hope for your continued support to this program for the physically challenged children in the Philippines."
