New Chemical and Dangerous Goods Warehouse in Haiphong, Vietnam

November 04, 2020

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Junichiro Ikeda) today announced that on October 30, MVG Dinh Vu Co. Ltd. (MVG; MOL ownership: 67.5%), joint venture established in cooperation with local partners, held a grand opening ceremony for a new chemical and dangerous goods (DG) warehouse. The warehouse, built to conform to the latest local fire code, will offer a range of handling services for chemical products and other DGs.

The warehouse is in the petrochemical area of Dinh Vu Industrial Park adjacent to the Port of Haiphong in northern Vietnam, offering easy access to a broad transport network, including the deep-water port at Lach Huyen, the Hanoi-Haiphong expressway, and Cat Bi International Airport. The raised-floor warehouse, with total floor space of 5,400m2, is Vietnam's most spacious DG warehouse.

Since its foundation in 2014, MVG has offered services centering on the container depot business with two of them in Haiphong. It built a DG warehouse in one of the depot to meet growing needs for chemical logistics services in Vietnam. MOL's focus on chemical total logistics is one of growth strategies in the "Rolling Plan 2020" management plan. MVG's opening of the DG warehouse aims to enhance the foundation of the MOL Group's logistics business in Vietnam, where steady growth is anticipated in the future.

The MOL Group continually offers stress-free services by meeting a broad range of logistics needs in Intra Asia, a region showing continued economic growth.
