MOL Signs Service Agreement with NPO WELgee for Recruiting and Staffing Services

November 22, 2022

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced the conclusion of a service agreement for recruiting and staffing services with non-profit organization WELgee (Founder: Sayaka Kankolongo Watanabe; Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo).

WELgee provides recruiting and staffing services for refugees who have fled their home countries for Japan, offering consistent support for their training, employment, and settlement. Its activities contribute to the creation of a tolerant and diverse society in which refugees can have hope for a second life, by providing opportunities to connect with Japanese society and access to housing and job opportunities.

Many of the refugees are competent workers with diverse experience and skills who can serve as a bridge between Japanese companies and the wider world, and have great potential to help Japanese companies in the future.

Through its global human resources (HR) consulting business, MOL has been proactively introducing foreign personnel to various companies and local governments to help address the problem of worker shortages in Japanese industry. By concluding this partnership with WELgee, MOL will establish a cooperative system of employment support and provide job placement services, so that refugees can live stable lives in Japan.
