MOL Selected as ‘White 500' Company; Recognized as Outstanding Organization in Health & Productivity Management

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced that it has been designated as a Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization (Large Enterprise Category) for the sixth year in a row, and it has been named to the "White 500," a list of the top 500 enterprises in the program, administered by Nippon Kenko Kaigi (Note) for 2 consecutive years.

The Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization Recognition Program recognizes organizations, including large and small/medium-sized enterprises, that practice particularly excellent health management based on their efforts in line with health management issues facing communities and efforts on health promotion initiatives.
In the 2023 Health Management Survey (Large Enterprise Category), MOL was ranked in the top 500 out of 3,523 enterprises that underwent a comprehensive assessment.

MOL aims to establish a sound, energetic, innovative organization, become the world leader in safe operation, and develop the MOL Group into "a strong and resilient corporate group," by supporting the mental and physical health of every employee.

[MOL's major initiatives to promote health management]

  • Support for both the physical and mental health of all employees, including those working at sea and overseas, in collaboration with the Human Resources Division, industrial health staff comprising of doctors, public health nurses, a psychiatrist, certified psychologists, an in-house clinic, an acupuncture, moxibustion, and massage room, a health insurance association, and other concerned parties.
  • Presents health lectures and health check events on themes such as sleep and diet, based on employee health surveys.

(Note) Nippon Kenko Kaigi is an organization that takes practical action, in collaboration with private organizations and with full administrative support, to ensure longer, healthier lifespans and to provide appropriate medical care, targeting individuals in Japan, a country facing a dramatically advancing aging society with a low birthrate. The organization aims to encourage workplaces and communities to achieve specific measures to overcome health-related challenges in collaboration with private organizations, e.g., economic associations, healthcare associations and insurers, and municipalities.
