River Clean-up and Environmental Education by MOL Group companies in Malaysia

MOL Logistics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., MOL group company of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto), implemented the "River Clean-up and Environmental Education" program as part of its social contribution activities, aiming to continuously promote environmental conservation and the creation of sustainable local communities.

The activity was conducted on 14 November 2025 (Fri.) in Gopeng, Perak, Malaysia, with the participation of about 50 employees representing all branches and offices of MOL Logistics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. across Malaysia. The initiative aimed to address environmental concerns while promoting awareness of sustainability and responsible waste management.

The river clean-up activity focused on removing plastics, chemical waste, and other debris that threaten river ecosystems. By improving river cleanliness and water flow, the program contributed to pollution reduction, ecosystem protection, and flood risk mitigation in surrounding communities. Cleaner waterways also support public health by reducing stagnant water that can facilitate the spread of mosquitoes and waterborne diseases.

In addition to environmental benefits, the program emphasized education and community engagement. Employee participation fostered teamwork, volunteerism, and environmental awareness, while reinforcing the importance of long-term sustainable practices. The initiative also supports local economic development by enhancing the area's attractiveness for tourism and recreational activities.

The MOL Group will continue to actively engage in environmental conservation and social contribution, with each officer and employee taking the initiative.

A successful clean-up activity was carried out, thanks to the collective efforts and cooperation of everyone involved.
