MOL Maritex Co., Ltd. (President: Kyoya Nitta; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "MOLMAT"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (President & CEO: Jotaro Tamura; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo), launched a new training program, the "DP Technical Maintenance Course," designed for engineers responsible for the maintenance and servicing of Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems.
This course has obtained maritime education and training certification from Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) and commenced on June 30, 2026.
The course was developed as part of the FY2025 government-supported program, "Subsidy for Human Resource Development in Offshore Wind Power." Through this initiative, MOLMAT aims to contribute to the development of highly skilled technical personnel who play a critical role in ensuring safe operations in the expanding offshore wind industry.

■ Background of the Course launch
In 2022, MOLMAT established the MOL DP Training Center, certified by The Nautical Institute (NI), and has since provided a range of training programs primarily focused on DP operations.
In recent years, the demand for DP vessels has been rapidly increasing in Japan, driven by the growing size and offshore expansion of wind power facilities. In response to these market developments, MOLMAT is launching an advanced training program specialized in the maintenance field.
■ Course Features
This course is primarily intended for DP Engineers (DPE) and Electro-Technical Officers (ETO). It is a practical training program that integrates theory and hands-on skills, covering electrical systems, control systems, and DP systems.
A key feature of the course is its strong emphasis on troubleshooting and fault diagnosis. By utilizing actual failure data and real error messages, participants will develop practical, field-ready skills.
