MOL Group Supports Seafarers through Maritime Mountain Race

MOL (Europe Africa) Ltd. (MOLEA), a Group company of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Jotaro Tamura; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo), proudly participated in the Maritime Mountain Race organized by Mission to Seafarers (MtS), which was held in Le Bouveret, Switzerland, from June 26 to 28.

MtS is one of the world's largest seafarer welfare organizations, operating in more than 200 ports across 50 countries. It provides practical, emotional, and welfare support to seafarers of all nationalities and faiths, including access to mental health services, safe spaces where seafarers can spend time while ashore, and support for their families at home.

The race brought together 32 teams from across the global shipping industry, united by a common purpose of raising funds to support the wellbeing of seafarers, as they took on a challenging yet beautiful mountain course in the Alps. One team of three members from MOLEA participated in the race and successfully completed it. The effort was further supported by employees of MOLEA and the MOL Group, who donated a total of USD 10,100, demonstrating the Group's strong commitment to supporting seafarers. As of today, the race has raised USD 281,981 in total to fund MtS's seafarer support activities.

Seafarers are the backbone of international shipping, often working long periods away from home under demanding conditions. Supporting their wellbeing is fundamental to building a safe, resilient, and sustainable maritime industry.
