TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Jotaro Tamura) today announced that on July 6, 2026 the MOL Group's seafarer manning company in Netherlands, MOL Maritime (Europe) B.V.(*1) (hereinafter MOLME; Director & CEO: Kota Kobayashi) held a ceremony to mark the 40th anniversary of its founding.
The event was attended by Mitsuhisa Tanimoto, Group Executive Officer of MOL and President & CEO of MOL Global Ship Management Pte. Ltd., together with Animesh Hore, Associate Executive Officer of MOL, as well as staff from MOL Group ship management and from MOLME's subsidiaries, MOL Maritime (Adriatic) d.o.o. (based in Croatia, hereinafter "MOLMAT") and MOL Training Center (Europe) (based in Montenegro, hereinafter "MOLTCE").

At the venue, the 40-year journey of MOLME was commemorated, and many stakeholders, including ship management companies and affiliated companies, expressed their sincere appreciation for MOLME's contributions over the years.
MOL President & CEO Jotaro Tamura delivered a video message expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the employees, and their families who have supported MOLME since its founding in 1986. He also paid tribute to MOLME for consistently standing at the forefront of the MOL Group's growth.
The European seafarers of MOLME serve on the front lines of MOL's operations that require highly specialized expertise and extensive seagoing experience, including LNG carriers and FSRU(*2). They play a vital role in supporting the safe and stable operation of the MOL Group's energy transportation business.
In order to support their activities from shore, the MOL Group has established an integrated system with MOLME at its core, working in close cooperation with MOLMAT and MOLTCE covering the entire process from recruitment, education, and training to deployment of European seafarers.
In addition to its commitment to human resource development, MOL positions Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) as a "new driver of growth." On May 18, 2026, several women and men seafarers from MOLME participated in the online seafarer event held to commemorate the IMO International Day for Women in Maritime ("International Day for Women in Maritime") (*3), engaging in active discussions on their real-life experiences and challenges on board. Through such initiatives, MOL continues to foster an inclusive environment where all seafarers can work with confidence and peace of mind.
Looking ahead, the MOL Group will continue initiatives in India and other major seafarer-supplying countries to express appreciation to seafarers working away from their families and the onshore employees who support them. Through these efforts, MOL aims to foster strong ties with local communities with local communities, contribute to sustainable regional development, strengthen its safety culture, and secure and develop world-class maritime talent.
(*1) Established on May 5, 1986, in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Which mainly handle the manning of European seafarers.
(*2) FSRU stands for Floating Storage and Regasification Unit. FSRUs receive and store LNG offshore, regasifying it, and sending it to shore. They offer the advantages of lower costs and shorter startup periods compared to constructing storage tanks and regasification facilities onshore.
