19 August 2026
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Jotaro Tamura; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) held an MOL Open Day *1 from 28 to 30 July 2026 as part of the BLUE ACTION for ALL Campaign *2. Approximately 490 MOL Group employees and their loved ones participated over the three-day event.
The event featured a variety of programs, including workplace tours of facilities such as the Safety Operation Supporting Center, which guides the safe operation of vessels from shoreside 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, a lunch experience at the employee cafeteria, a quiz rally, ship-handling experiences, a wheelchair rugby experience, and a children's item exchange event. Through these activities, participants were able to deepen their understanding of the MOL Group's businesses and workplace environment. The event also provided opportunities for employees, their families, and loved ones to interact, allowing them to experience firsthand the sense of connection and unity within the MOL Group.

At the wheelchair rugby experience event, MOL welcomed players from the wheelchair rugby team AXE *3, of which MOL employee Kae Kurahashi *4 is a member. Participants had the opportunity to try sport wheelchairs and experience tackles from the athletes, creating an exciting and energetic atmosphere.
Wheelchair rugby is a sport in which athletes with different levels of disabilities each play their own role and compete as a team by leveraging their individual strengths. It embodies the principles of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I), where people with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and values respect one another and generate a greater combined strength by maximizing individual abilities. Through this experience, participants gained a deeper understanding of the value of diversity and the possibilities it can create.

The event also featured a children's item exchange event, where children's clothing, picture books, toys, and other items donated by employees were made available to visitors and enjoyed by many participants.
This initiative was first launched at the end of 2025 in response to employee feedback expressing a desire to make effective use of reusable children's items and to create opportunities for employees raising children to connect with one another. Held for the second time in conjunction with MOL Open Day, the event also gave children visiting the headquarters the opportunity to experience the joy of selecting items they liked for themselves.
In addition to promoting the reuse of children's items and contributing to resource circulation, the initiative helped create opportunities for interaction among employees and their families. Items that remained at the end of the exchange event will be put to good use through donation programs*5.
