Republic of Mauritius Opens Embassy in Japan

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced that effective August 18, MOL Chairman Junichiro Ikeda's termination of tenure as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Mauritius in Tokyo (Note 1), following the opening of the Mauritian Embassy in Japan by the government of the Republic of Mauritius.

Since August 2023, Chairman Ikeda had served as Honorary Consul, promoting friendly relations between the Republic of Mauritius and Japan, supporting exchanges in the fields of culture, education, and economics, and assisting Mauritian citizens residing in Japan. The opening of the Embassy symbolizes the further deepening of relations between the two countries.

MOL will continue to nurture friendly relations with Mauritius through its subsidiary MOL Mauritius Ltd. (Note 2), contributing to further development of individuals, organizations and communities in the country.
