MOL Group Conducts Employee Fundraising Campaign and Matching Donation for 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake Relief and Supports Installation of WOTA’s Water-Recycling Systems

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Jotaro Tamura; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) conducted a fundraising campaign among MOL Group officers and employees to support those affected by the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake. The campaign raised a total of JPY 1,503,000.
MOL will provide a matching donation equal to the amount contributed by its officers and employees. The combined total of JPY 3,006,000 will be donated as relief funds for the affected areas. This donation follows MOL's earlier contribution of JPY 10,000,000 to the Japanese Red Cross Society (Note 1).
In addition to this initiative, MOL made a donation through WOTA Corp. (CEO: Yosuke Maeda; Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "WOTA") (Note 2) to support the installation of the water-recycling shower system "WOTA BOX" and the water-regenerating handwashing stand "WOSH" in the affected areas.

The "WOTA BOX" and "WOSH" regenerate and recirculate water used for bathing and handwashing, even when water supplies are disrupted. By providing access to bathing and handwashing at medical institutions, elderly care facilities, childcare facilities, and other locations, these systems help address sanitation challenges in affected areas where clean water is especially needed.
All officers and employees of the MOL Group sincerely hope for the earliest possible recovery and reconstruction of the affected areas and for those impacted by the disaster to rebuild their lives.
