MOL Continuously Selected as a "Health & Productivity Stock Selection" and "Certified Health & Productivity Management Organization"

March 09, 2022

TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced that it has been selected for the "Health & Productivity Stock Selection", which is a joint certification by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE). Last year, MOL was the first company in the shipping industry to be recognized, and this year marks its second consecutive selection. In addition, it has been selected by the Nippon Kenko Kaigi (Note) as the "Certified Health & Productivity Management Organization (Large Enterprise Category)" for four consecutive years.

METI and TSE have jointly selected outstanding listed enterprises which focus on and strategically implement efforts regarding their employees' health from a management perspective as brands under the "Health & Productivity Stock Selection". This program aims to introduce the selected enterprises as attractive investment options for investors who prioritize measures to improve corporate value from a long-term perspective. Through this effort, METI and the TSE aim to encourage enterprises to engage more deeply in health and productivity management.

The Nippon Kenko Kaigi also conducts a program called the Certified Health & Productivity Management Organizations Recognition Program (Large Enterprise Category). Under this program, large enterprises, not limited to listed firms, are evaluated and the enterprises which implement outstanding health and productivity management practices are selected and honored.

This fiscal year, in addition to continual efforts to address health-related issues, MOL has taken various measures such as communicating and disseminating information including establishment of its vision to promote mental and physical health both inside and outside the company, providing information to maintain employees' health during remote work, offering mental health care that meets employees' individual needs, as well as ongoing follow-up with overseas employees.

By continually supporting every employee's mental and physical health, MOL aims to establish a sound, energetic, innovative organization, maintain and improve the mental and physical health of both employees and executives, and create a work environment where everyone can work safely and with peace of mind.
