TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) today announced that the LNG Bunkering vessel named "Brassavola" (hereinafter referred to as "this vessel"), 100% owned by MOL and is chartered to Pavilion LNG Bunker I Pte. Ltd., which is a 100% subsidiary of Pavilion Energy, performed her first bunkering service for a LNG-Fueled bulk carrier at the Port of Singapore on February 16, 2024.
This vessel was constructed at Seatrium Limited (formerly it is called as Sembcorp Maritime Ltd.) in Singapore and delivered in January this year. She is Singapore's first membrane-type LNG bunkering vessel equipped with highest technical spec and environmentally friendly standards. As increasing the interest in using LNG as a ship's fuel, which can reduce CO2 by 25% to 30% compared to heavy fuel oil and significantly reduce SOx(Sulfur oxides) and NOx(Nitrogen oxides), LNG bunkering vessels are promoting and encouraging the spread of LNG fuel.
MOL group owns three LNG bunkering vessels including this vessel, each of which supplies LNG fuel at major bunkering ports around the world.
MOL is and will be continuing to actively work on the infrastructure improvement for the spread of environmentally friendly fuels, including LNG, and respond to the needs of our customers and society for reducing environmental impact.
